CANON70D 1/80th sec@f/10 ISO100, 24mm(EF24-105mm f/4). I took this image sometime ago at Arts on Main on one of the many walks with Danie and the street photography group. using dried leaves/ flowers etc. usually shot on a tripod from above…overhead….with a side light like a small soft box….thats fairly close and low. Shooting like this you can really arrange your elements and move things in…Read More1 Comment -

This is another of of my Joburg #StreetPhotography shots #Monochrome #BNWPhotography
kinda the type of image that I’m drawn too…..think this may even be my own reflection in the centre.
Joburg city. one camera and one lens…which is the way I usually go out. Always a prime like a 35mm or a 50mm mainly.

Additionally, the texture of the bricks makes it hard to distinguish the subject. To improve, consider moving your subject away from the backdrop or using a…Read More

Title: ‘The Girl with Pearls’
Camera: Canon 5dMk4
Lens: Tamron 70 – 200mm
Details: 1/200 sec at f8.0, ISO 250
Flash: Main – Godox AD600BM camera left, Fill – Godox TT685 speedlight camera right.
Originally shot for colour, magenta on one side of the face with a blue fill light, I felt it could also work as a dramatic black and white.2 Comments-

I’d like to offer a tip: Your subject’s pupils appear rather large, making the irises look too small. Next time, ensure you use a strong modeling lamp on your key light, or position a small LED light on a stand next to you. This will help dilate…Read More

Urban Bells
I was inspired last night by Danie’s Zoom session on B&W editing to have a look at some older photos to edit.
Taken on one of the DPC visits to Maboneng. It was a clear blue sky day, so nothing exciting happening in the sky, unfortunately.
ISO 100, 1/400, f8. 116mm
Not much done in editing, just a crop, some straightening, applied a…Read More1 Comment -
