  • Outdoor location fashion/beauty glamour shoot. we used the Nelson Mandela bridge in braamfontein. make up and styling was done beforehand so we could shoot this quickly without hassle from security on the bridge. I used a fairly wide zoom so I could get the two models and the bridge Joburg city environment which was the whole point of this…Read More

  • Dried leaf, flowers. This is a studio shot…kind of a still-life I suppose. I shoot a lot of this type of still-life
using dried leaves/ flowers etc. usually shot on a tripod from above…overhead….with a side light like a small soft box….thats fairly close and low. Shooting like this you can really arrange your elements and move things in…Read More

This is another of of my Joburg #StreetPhotography shots #Monochrome #BNWPhotography
kinda the type of image that I’m drawn too…..think this may even be my own reflection in the centre.
Joburg city. one camera and one lens…which is the way I usually go out. Always a prime like a 35mm or a 50mm mainly.

This image of dried leaves….was shot number of years ago on my 500cm Hasselblad with the 80mm lens and a close up lens in front. Think I used the 645 back. I used to do a lot of images of dried flowers and leaves…..organic things that fascinate me….and I would place them on a light table that would create the beautiful illumination from…Read More

Capturing a figure like Mandela is indeed a significant achievement for any photographer. The authenticity of this candid documentary shot is striking, with the low angle view enhancing Mandela’s stature and presence.
