DPC Wildlife Expedition 2024

Hello DPC Tribe!

We kicked off our month-long journey through Limpopo, Botswana, and Zimbabwe on Friday. We are travelling north towards Kasane where we will meet up with 6 of our DPC students at the Pangolin Safari Hotel for our Botswana Chobe Safari starting on the 22nd of March, complete with 5-star accommodation! The students are all flying in to Kasane, and we are travelling by car with their equipment to make it easier for them.

Nikon South Africa has equipped me with the Nikon Z8, boasting the latest in animal and bird eye tracking technology. I’m keen to compare its performance with other leading brands like Sony and Canon in capturing wildlife and birds.

Despite challenges such as weak signals and limited internet access, we’re committed to sharing our adventure with you on the DPC Platform. Expect regular updates and insights on our trip as well as the Nikon Z8’s performance in the wild.

Update 2

Ethabeni Camp

Our first stop at Ethabeni Wildside camp in Limpopo – 11 guests from Canon France.

DPC wildlife training tomorrow in the conference room.

Update 3

Students extremely impressed with our training which had a huge impact on our facilitator Helen

It’s the second time she used us to entertain her international guests. Now we know she will use us again.

Update 4

Our first night in Dark Africa-no electricity. We have forgotten what darkness is living in the city.

Update 5

This is where we are camping tonight, on route to Nata to photograph the flamingos on the salt pans. My first test round with the Nikon Z8. Will start giving feedback tomorrow.

Update 6

Just dropping in with a quick update from my recent stop at Eselbe Backpackers Camp in Nata, Botswana. What a day it’s been!

Update 7

Friday! On our way to our first day on the Chobe River with the DPC Tribe, fully equipped with cameras and long lenses!

Update 8

Time to take a look at the photos our students have been taking on our expedition!

Stay Tuned! Keep an eye out for a glimpse into the heart of Botswana through our lenses.

Catch you on the next update!
