Oats and Blueberries
Going out of my comfort zone and playing around with dark and moody for a change. It was really interesting how much work I had to do to cut down the light, especially for the background, to get the feeling I was going for.

Sharon, your photo caught my attention—I had to do a double-take to realise that the buildings were reflecting in the water. The colours, distortion, and repetitive elements captured in the reflection create a captivating visual experience. Congratulations on earning a weekly photo award! -

The scene you’ve captured is wonderful, yet the narrative at the bottom is overshadowed by the magnificent sky above. To bring more focus to your story, I recommend a 16×9 cinematic crop and reduce some of the sky to place greater emphasis on the story unfolding below. Once fixed, please repost for consideration for a Photo Award.

Excellent travel portrait, Sharon. Initially, I thought reducing some sky, similar to your other post, would highlight your subject more. However, upon a closer look, the converging cloud lines superbly lead the eye towards the centre, enhancing the composition. You might consider adding an extremely subtle vignette to…Read More

Rosalie, congratulations on a job well done. The way you’ve manipulated depth is commendable, with the blueberries leading the viewer’s eye from the foreground to the background seamlessly. The composition is well-balanced, focusing on the three primary elements: the bowl at the forefront, the blueberries to the left, and…Read More
