Excellent travel portrait, Sharon. Initially, I thought reducing some sky, similar to your other post, would highlight your subject more. However, upon a closer look, the converging cloud lines superbly lead the eye towards the centre, enhancing the composition. You might consider adding an extremely subtle vignette to…Read More

This was taken in the early morning into a rising sun. I needed to retain enough data in the shadows to give a bit of detail hence the high shutter speed. I had taken a number of fairly boring shots when the bull decided he would come to the party and complete the c…Read More6 Comments-

Beaunard, your photograph captures a compelling scene, and you’ve done an excellent job. To enhance the focus on the majestic locomotive, consider cropping a bit of the space at the bottom. This small adjustment could further emphasize its grandeur. If you’re interested, we could explore additional editing techniques like…Read More

A shot I took a year ago but felt The Adamsky Effect would work quite well so I did a re-edit and I like it.

The Kandinsky method can easily be overdone, but John, you’ve nailed it with your execution. The balance between blur and sharpness is spot-on, making me take a second look to realize you’ve employed this technique. Had you not mentioned it, I would’ve been compelled to ask. This is a superb fusion of surrealism and realism,…Read More

Your carousel image, typically a symbol of joy, carries a starkly ominous feel with the absence of happy children. The dark editing effectively contributes to this sense of solitude. Some constructive feedback: the watermark is unnecessary detract from the image’s impact.

Really felt like we had ZZ Top in for a shoot. Both Bennie and Morne were great and I got some great shots.

Took this picture in January last year, it is quite tricky trying to co-ordinate the tides in the UK. The difference between low and high tide are so big, that you can get to a beach and there is no water for a few hundred metres, versus not being able to get on the beach because its completely covered the sand in some places. On this night I had…Read More

Sharon, your photo caught my attention—I had to do a double-take to realise that the buildings were reflecting in the water. The colours, distortion, and repetitive elements captured in the reflection create a captivating visual experience. Congratulations on earning a weekly photo award!
