CANON90D, 0.5 sec@f/13, ISO100, 10mm(10-20mm) Sigma, CPL used together with a tripod. Used a couple pf images and time blended them in Photoshop to get the different states of flow in the river.

Hi Rosalie. New Zealand is a photographers dream but so is SA, the only difference being in NZ they are so geared up for hikers etc and everything is pretty close. But if you ever get a chance you must go.

What a gorgeous shot! And such lovely backlighting, making those whiskers glow. Only suggestion from me would be to use a smaller aperture if possible (maybe f8) next time, to get both animals in pin-sharp focus. I totally agree with you, Rosalie. Did you use a 70-300mm lens here? The reason why I ask is that 300mm will have a huge impact on the DOF as well.

CANON90D, 0.4sec@glen-fouche/18, ISO100. 10mm(10-20mm)Sigma, CPL used. Two images time blended and edited in Photoshop. Shutter speed of one image was 1/25 sec for the leaves etc and the 2nd shutter speed was .4 sec and this was for the water.

Sharon, your photo caught my attention—I had to do a double-take to realise that the buildings were reflecting in the water. The colours, distortion, and repetitive elements captured in the reflection create a captivating visual experience. Congratulations on earning a weekly photo award!-
