“”Gawking in Yosemite”
I often find that the bustling photographers make a more interesting subject than the real “subject”.
Came across this old shot of mine while cleaning up my Lightroom catalogue.

“Aspire” Triathlete #1
I was working on my panning technique at the recent People’s Triathlon here in Gqeberha. Got a lot of bad shots (and I mean A LOT), but there were a few that were not too bad, like this athlete from Aspire triathlon club.
Taken with a Canon EOS 6D Mark II and my favourite 100mm Canon macro lens.

Nice and sharp. Great composition too! There is a slight halo effect around the wings, which seems like a post processing issue. Fix it and upload again for a feature!

This picture dates back to October 2021. These wasps were nesting close to our backdoor and I had such fun observing them, observing their habits and photographing at the same time. This is a 2 image hand held focus stack which allowed all three the larvae to be in focus. I have decided to revisit some older work to experiment with the newer…Read More

Renate, it’s crucial for photographers to frequently revisit their older work. Firstly, to gauge your growth, and sometimes, after a fresh edit or crop, you might realise you had a gem like this macro shot all along! Congratulations on your feature! -
This is an absolutely stunning shot, and you are really brave for getting so close to a wasp nest! The Canon 100mm Macro lens it is such a great lens, I love mine too.

Berry Hungry
#WildlifeComp2023 #birdphotography
I shot this hungry little Cape White-Eye and its hard-working parents in my garden a week ago. The baby was quite tame and didn’t mind me following them around the garden with my big lens. It wasn’t quite mobile yet, although it could fly short distances and up into the shrubs, and spent…Read More

Great action shot, Landi, and it’s definitely feature-worthy! It’s a pity there wasn’t more space included on the sides. To enhance it further, consider reducing the overall exposure and selectively dodging the gazelles and dust for added contrast. I can also imagine this photo in black and white, which with a proper edit…Read More

We missed this birth by a few minutes. The calf was just standing as we got there and still falling over as he learned to navigate his legs.
