Best Camera to Buy
We understand choosing the right camera can be daunting, especially if you’re just starting out. We are here to help guide you through this decision.
Here’s how to get started: To provide you with the best possible advice on which camera system will suit you, it’s important for us to know the following:
• Budget: Please let us know the budget you have in mind for a camera and lens. A range from minimum to maximum that you’re comfortable spending would be most helpful.
• Preferred Genre: What type of photography are you most interested in? General, People, Travel and Landscape, Wildlife, Architecture, Food, or any other specific form? This will help in selecting the right camera setup for your needs.
• Stills or Video: Will you be using the camera primarily for stills, video, or both.
• Your Photography Goals: Are you looking to enjoy photography as a hobby, or are you aiming to turn it into a side hustle or even a full-time career? How much do cameras cost? We realise that you might not have a clear idea what cameras and lens combinations typically cost, so we will provide some general guidelines:
• Entry-Level: Around R10,000.
• Advanced Entry-Level to Prosumer: R15,000 to R30,000.
• Prosumer to Professional: Above R30,000.General Tips:
• Second-hand cameras: Carefully selected used gear can be a smart, cost-effective alternative
• Starting Point: It’s practical to start with a basic camera system and upgrade your lenses over time. Lenses are crucial and significantly impact the quality of your photos.
• Future-Proofing: We usually recommend mirrorless cameras to stay ahead with technology, though DSLRs are excellent for learning and can serve you well until an upgrade is needed.Contact Us: Call us or send a WhatsApp text or voice note with your budget, preferred usage, photography genre, and goals to 072 608 3345. We will gladly provide advice to help you make the best choice.
