CANON 600D, 1/30 sec @f/11 ISO100 55mm(EF55mm-250mm) Edited in LR and Photoshop, the heavy lifting was done in Photoshop as at the time of taking this image I had just received my CANON and the image was underexposed quite a bit.

Was out practicing panning shots today. Will share some of the most successful ones later, but in the meantime, here’s one of the “unsuccessful” ones that I actually like the most.

Such a beautiful composition Jessica, ist sharp, good light in the eyes, perfectly expose. For a better balance in the frame, I would crop a little at the top for the subject to pop. Well done!

Beautiful shot Bruno.Your image is sharp and well exposed and ample detail in the feathers. When the background is busy, rather oppt for a f/5.6 or f/6 with a lens at that range. It will allow for the subject to pop away from the background for more imapact.

Lovely image Bruno.
Hippo jaws are specially adapted to open their mouths extremely wide without tearing the skin or ligaments. This behavior is mostly used for hippos to display their teeth and jaws, which is a sign of aggression that is meant to scare off predators or other hippos competing for their territory.-
