Title: Urban Elegance: Capturing Love on a City Street
ISO-1250 1/640 sec at f/4. R6, 16-35 F4mm
I ‘would like to share a recent photograph I captured at a city wedding venue, where we often find ourselves within the four walls of a beautiful venue. However, for this particular image, I decided to step outside into the bustling city streets, seeking to infuse a European street ambiance into the shot.
My idea was to create a photograph that transported viewers to the charming streets of Europe, with all its romanticism and urban allure. To achieve this, I set the stage by taking the couple outdoors, away from the conventional wedding venue backdrop.
As the couple stood there, I asked them to take a leisurely walk toward me. This simple directive allowed me to capture a candid and natural moment of their journey together. Their connection and love were palpable as they strolled hand in hand.
The soft, golden hour light worked in my favour, casting a warm and enchanting glow on the building behind the couple.. It enhanced the romantic atmosphere and added a touch of magic to the scene. This is a reminder that sometimes, natural light can be your best friend in outdoor photography.
I also made sure to keep an eye on the composition. Framing the couple in such a way that they were walking towards the space on the left of the vertical frame which created a sense of direction and movement in the photograph. It emphasised the notion of them embarking on a new journey together.
In the end, this photograph became a beautiful fusion of urban chic and timeless romance. It’s a testament to the idea that sometimes, stepping outside of the expected can lead to breathtaking results. I hope this post provides some valuable insights for the students reviewing my work, and I encourage you all to explore and experiment with your photography to create unique and unforgettable images.
