Title: Moremi Feline
Captured this Cheetah on my trip to the Moremi in July this year.
Shot with Nikon D3400 1/160sec, f/8.0, ISO 100, 70mm (70-300mm, f4.5-6.3)

Thank you for posting Colleen, Although the first Cheetah looks sharp it’s evident that the cat moved slightly when you pressed the shutter. A faster shutter speed would have sorted that out for you. The second cat is unfortunately not sharp, also a focusing issue with the slow shutter speed not helping. Keep on shooting, with practise, comes perfection.

Title: ‘White-Backed Vulture’’
5DMk4, Tamron 150-600mm at 600mm, 1/800 sec at F6.3 ISO 125, hand held. I deliberately under-exposed the image to give me a low ISO and high shutter speed as I was hand holding, trusting in Canon and Lightroom to recover the subject in post.
Shot in Kruger. Initial post process in DXO Pure Raw and lightroom and t…Read More

Wow beautiful shot John. Love the natural framing. Well done.

Thanks Bruna!

You just keep nailing the shots. Love this so much!

Thanks Rosalie.

Wow John, Love the composition, immaculate detail on the Vulture, nothing blown out, just perfect. The fact that you underexposed adds so much drama as well as impact. The background is perfect and the tree frames the Vulture perfectly. Well done!

Such a beautiful composition Jessica, ist sharp, good light in the eyes, perfectly expose. For a better balance in the frame, I would crop a little at the top for the subject to pop. Well done!

Brown Hooded Kingfisher – KNP

Beautiful shot Bruno.Your image is sharp and well exposed and ample detail in the feathers. When the background is busy, rather oppt for a f/5.6 or f/6 with a lens at that range. It will allow for the subject to pop away from the background for more imapact.

Thank you Bruna

Lovely image Bruno.
Hippo jaws are specially adapted to open their mouths extremely wide without tearing the skin or ligaments. This behavior is mostly used for hippos to display their teeth and jaws, which is a sign of aggression that is meant to scare off predators or other hippos competing for their territory.-
Thank You

I wanted to look at creating more of an artistic feel to a shot of a beautiful kudu bull. Initial post process in lightroom and into Photoshop for an Oil Painting filter. I think it may work well as a canvass print?

Beautiful animal portrait John! I love the way the Kudu blends in with the background. Your image is sharp and you’ve handled the exposure well. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Bruna

Hi John, this is a beautiful capture of the kudu, but I don’t think the picture needs all the Photoshop effects. It feels too digital and not refined. I believe your subject deserves better—just my honest opinion, and I hope you take it in good spirit.
-
Thanks. I actually agree. Just trying ways to turn an ordinary shot of a kudu into more of an artwork, apart from going the black and white route.

Wow well done Lezindie. You got this spot on with what is a rather difficult shoot at that speed and so close to you. Not everyone get this the first time.👏👏

Thanx Bruna!
