B-Sides of Architecture Workshop

Join Danie for the B-Sides Architecture Outing next Friday from 09:00 – 14:00 in Johannesburg.
Instructor: Danie Bester
What to Expect:
- Capture dramatic shots of architectural structures in the moody/directional winter light.
- Learn about exposure and composition for moody architectural photography.
- Walk away with a portfolio of at least 12 curated images across different sets.
- Enjoy a free 90-minute Zoom session on editing (recording included).
You’ll learn about the following aspects: Light, Colour, Contrast, Texture, Angle, Line, Shape, Form, Geometry, Focal Point, Repetition, and Layering.
Bring:
- Your camera, standard zoom lens, and your favourite prime lens.
- Mobile phone cameras are welcome — Danie will be shooting with his phone exclusively!
- Leave your tripod at home.
- Cash or card for coffee and brunch.
Meeting Time and Place:
Meet us at 08:50 at Arts on Main/Jewel City. We will have a 30-minute Zoom meeting on Wednesday, 21 August, for final arrangements. Details will also be shared with all attendees in the WhatsApp group.
Transport Reminder:
Danie wil be leaving at 08:00 from our Studio in Centurion and would prefer students to drive or convoy with us! If you’re from a different area, you can arrange with fellow students during our Zoom meeting or via the WhatsApp group to meet up and drive together.
