Feisty little cub
1/1000 F/5.6 Iso 1000 388mm
I faced some challenges with the photos, as the sun was setting fast and the cub was inside a shrug that increased the shadows and darkness even more. Unfortunately, I had to drop my shutter speed to 1000, otherwise the grain would have killed the photos with a higher ISO.

Absolutely stunning Wolter!! Perfect exposure, it’s sharp with beautiful catch-light in the eyes. The crop works very well. Truly amazing work!!

Riette, there’s something truly special about an animal portrait that evokes emotion, and this one does just that. I’d suggest cropping in slightly from the right and cloning out the twig in the top left corner. What do you think?

O wow! This is a fantastic wildlife image and congratulations with your award. Initially, I thought increasing the exposure might make it pop, but the dark, subtle mood and colours work beautifully. Just a suggestion—try cropping a bit from the left edge to improve the balance.

Stunning image John! I personally really enjoy the crop with the negative space to the left in your frame. It creates space for the Kudu to look into. The background adds drama and the lowlight impact. Thank you for posting Colleen, Although the first Cheetah looks sharp it’s evident that the cat moved slightly when you pressed the shutter. A faster shutter speed would have sorted that out for you. The second cat is unfortunately not sharp, also a focusing issue with the slow shutter speed not helping. Keep on shooting, with practise, comes perfection.

“Aspire” Triathlete #1
I was working on my panning technique at the recent People’s Triathlon here in Gqeberha. Got a lot of bad shots (and I mean A LOT), but there were a few that were not too bad, like this athlete from Aspire triathlon club.
Taken with a Canon EOS 6D Mark II and my favourite 100mm Canon macro lens.
